There are certain days we should never allow to become just another date on the calendar. September 11th is one of them. This year, Nick and I are honored to spend the morning at the Little River Elks Lodge for a special 9/11 remembrance. We’ll be broadcasting The Liz Callaway Show live from 6–10 AM, with a remembrance ceremony at 9 AM. Twenty-five years have passed since that terrible morning, but for so many of us, the memories are still incredibly vivid. We remember where we were. We remember the confusion and fear. We remember watching first responders run toward danger while everyone else was trying to escape it. We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military members and ordinary Americans who showed extraordinary courage. And we remember what happened afterward, too. For a moment, we weren’t divided into political parties or arguing about everything under the sun. We were simply Americans. We flew our flags. We checked on our neighbors. We prayed together. We grieved together. And we understood how precious this country — and each other — really are. That spirit is worth remembering. I hope you’ll join us at the Little River Elks Lodge on September 11th. Come listen, remember, honor those we lost and stand with the first responders, veterans and families who carry the meaning of that day with them every year. Nick and I are incredibly grateful to be part of it. We will never forget.
